Saturday December 1st 2018, 10am-1pm

St Andrew’s, Short Street, London SE1 8LJ

What makes a great short story? How do successful writers shape a riveting plot and narrative into the slender scope of 1,000 words? And in the scrolling frenzy of our fast-paced digital world, is the short story format experiencing something of a renaissance?

All these questions and more will be explored at a workshop on Saturday, December 1st, seconds from London’s South Bank.

Run by Bridge House Publishing in partnership with the Waterloo Festival, the three-hour immersive workshop is open to all writers, experienced or completely new. Explore the craft and techniques involved in writing the perfect short story in a friendly and informal setting.

When you’re sufficiently inspired, why not enter the Waterloo Festival Writing Competition 2019? This hugely popular competition, now in its second year, offers the chance to be published by Bridge House. Full details of the 2019 competition will be announced at the workshop.
