About the exhibition
What happens when we do things for ourselves? As automation and artificial intelligence increasingly infiltrate our lives, what is the deeper impact on individuals and society? Taking its lead from the automated check-out counters of supermarkets and self-operating petrol station forecourts, this exhibition brings together over 20 works by moving-image artists from all over the world. The show—by turns thrilling and unsettling—is curated by the artist David Theobald and Genetic Moo, renowned for their living installations in pixels and light.
Exhibiting artists include Katerina Athanasopoulou, Stephen Carley, Sandra Crisp, Micheál O’Connell/MOCKSIM, Genetic Moo, Charlotte C Mortensson, Svetlana Ochkovskaya, David Theobald.
