ABOUT ERNEST READ SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
One of London’s leading and longest established amateur orchestras, ERSO was founded in 1931 by Ernest Read, a pioneer in music education and youth orchestras and known for the long-running Ernest Read Concerts for Children.
ERSO’s members are music students, professional musicians at the start of their careers and talented amateurs. Principal Conductor, Christopher Stark, is best known as co-founder and co-Artistic Director of RPS Award-winning Multi-Story Orchestra with whom he made a critically acclaimed BBC Proms debut in 2016 in a Peckham car-park.
