community art exhibition
Calling all artists!
Waterloo Festival, in collaboration with Bridge House Publishing, is inviting short story submissions on the theme of ‘Transforming Communities’.
Waterloo Festival, in collaboration with Coin Street Community Builders, is delighted to invite submissions for an outdoor showcase of sculpture, art and installations in the Churchyard of St. John’s Waterloo. We’re seeking artists who have connections with Waterloo, North Lambeth and North Southwark and want to creatively explore the beautiful wrap-around gardens on the South Bank fringe.
The theme of the exhibition will be ‘Sustainability’. Can we re-imagine our future sustainable world? What might it look like? How could it make us feel? What sort of possibilities lie ahead, as we seek to re-shape the way we consume and interact with our home, the earth?
Inspired? We hope so! If you have an idea or an existing work that explores 'Sustainability', suitable for a two-week outdoor display, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org . We would like you to send us a brief proposal and samples/images of your previous artwork. The deadline for proposal submission is 20th February 2020.
The show will be curated by Anna Glarin and Eleanor Watson. Anna is Arts & Creative Community Programmes Coordinator at Coin Street Community Builders. Eleanor has completed a masters in Fine Art at City and Guilds of London Art School. As the winner of the prestigious Jonathan Vickers Fine Art Award in 2016, Eleanor had a solo exhibition at the Derby Museum. Since graduating with first class honours from Wimbledon College of Art in 2012 Eleanor has exhibited widely, within the UK and internationally in New York, Miami and Amsterdam and was shortlisted for the Young Masters Art Prize in 2014.
